Redang Island - Kenangan Terindah
As a Tourism student in Taylor University College, I am greatly appreciated the opportunities that I have now. Never thought that I could go those places where I have ever been. Have the chance to step out of the "well" to see this beautiful world.
First time taking air planes from KL - TGG... Redang Island ( Berjaya Resort) where my first internship hold place. Actually the reasons that I choose Berjaya Redang for my first internship was because a movie, named "xia re mo mo cha" (夏日嬷嬷茶), act by Sammi Cheng & Richie Ren. This movie was took place at Redang Island and of course the whole island started to get famous is also because of this movie.
Stayed there for 3 months to experience the real tourism and hotel industry. To learn something which beyond my studies. As a tourism student, I didn't learn any F&B operation in my college whereas I was assigned into F&B as a server. No doubt, it was a very difficult task for me and super duple tired job !!!Well , I did learn something new which I am unable to learn in college.
Despite the working time was exhausting but I did enjoy my life there. I spent plenty of time to explore the whole island.
The most memorable moments were lying down on the beach to enjoy the galaxy sky full with STARS and wind blows through my face. Together with a bunch of friends, bought our pillows, blankets and jackets to sleep on the beach & wharf. Had a good time sleep overnight on the beach and bite by the CRABS, it's true that crab bites people is very pain =p
I have seem my first "shooting star" on the island while I lied down on the beach chair and chit-chatting with my friends. I could still remember the lightning of the meteor remained for a few minutes then just fully disappeared. It was freaking beautiful.
Berjaya Redang Resort is a separated resort with its own beaches and where the local Kampung located (Teluk Dalam Kecil). Therefore if we wanna access to another beach site (Pasir Panjang) where a lot of resorts is situated, people must taking boat or either jungle trekking.
Most of the time, my local friends would fetch us there by using their own speed boat. The most stimulate experience was during the raining day with strong waves and taking the boat to Pasir Panjang. I could feel the moment when I was on boat, my whole body is like can fly out into the sea, luckily my friends were just next to me. hahahahaa...
A lot of people will only know Redang is famous with the marine life, crystal clear water and its white sandy . But actually there's another most important thing that cannot be miss to see on the island, it is "BlueSand". Do you know what is blue sand?? It's known as " Bioluminescent Ostracods" (also know as Firefleas / Sea Firefly). Ostracods are microscopic crustaceans, typically 0.2mm to 2mm long but are readily fossilised and can occur in enormous numbers in some sediments. Ostracods inhabit in aquatic environment use bioluminescence during mating where the males will attract females to them. Males ostracods flash in a sequence as they swim to attract females. Bioluminescence is blue colour because all colors of light do not transmit equally through ocean water, so if the purpose of bioluminescence is to provide a signal that is detected by other organisms, then it is important that the light be transmitted through seawater. Blue light transmits best through seawater - by goggle.
Blue Sand is very very beautiful but its life is very short as well.
On the other hands, it's also good to experience the "Open Air Disco" at Redang Island. If not mistaken, there are 5 or more than 5 "open air disco"there. But unfortunately I don't really like its environment cause I prefer and enjoy tranquil life the most.
Apart from that, I did cycling with my friends there. I was very proud that I'm the only girls among my friends who can ride motor bike. Of course I need to thanks my local friends that willing to borrow me their bikes and trust me so much. Some more I don't need to worry whether I will get bang by the car or not, because the whole Kampung has no much people will drive and the cars can be count by the fingers. Hahahaha =p !!! The only thing I need to be aware are the sheeps,cows and get used to everyone sized me up with curious eyes. What to do? They never see a beautiful Chinese girl ride motor bike on the island before waa =X
It's very cold at night if ride the motor on the island.
During end of the training, I was very happy because I could get out of the misery job but at the same time I was not willing to leave my friends there and of course the beautiful scenery. I wish one day I can get back there again but is just for traveling purpose !!! God bless me *finger cross*

I just realised actually I had posted something relevance about Redang in my previous blog! anyway, just treat this as a recall & flash back my memories ba~

kingdom of CAMBODIA
2009 March 31
DT28 regional tour to "kingdom of CAMBODIA"
Day 1 ...
gathered at commercial square at 10am and depart to LCCT at 10.30 am . actually we supposed gatherin around 11am but due to some transport problem so we have to departed early :(
waiting for airport check in ... and shopping at duty free shop till 3pm...
finally departure to our final destination CAMBODIA ... oh yeah !!!
the 1st day when I reached there and what the 1st thing came out in my mind... the air there is so dusty!!! and i saw the children was picking the rubbish to eat !!! omg ~~~
the traffic there is so messy and dangerous !!! the motorist are not wearing helmets and the roads is so narrow...
the 1st place
that we went to was an orphanage. it was actually not in our itinerary but we request it as our social service. it is one the of big orphanage in cambodia. it can accommodate around 6000 - 7000 children. the orphanage guide leaded us walk around the orphanage and understand how does the orphanage operate ... of coz we had prepare something to donate to the orphanage and also TJ gave some candies to them. when we reached there was around 4-5pm of local time , most of the student were leave already...
after dinner at local restuarant we went back to our hotel which is "Pacific Hotel" at Phnom Phem town. one day before we went to Cambodia was our dearest classmate Sinsien & Hannah birthday...
kakakaa... show time !!!
everybody gathered together and used meeting as an excuse to "cheat" them coz we prepared a big surprise for them.
..... next day .....
we went to Royal Palace. the buildings... " c'est magnifique" !!! and some of the buddha statue are make by jade , ruby , silver , gold even diamond some more...
the weather is so hot, humid ...the temperature was 40 degrees !!!
but we all still enjoying the tour !!!
after that, we went to "Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum" which known as S-21 prison. in 1975, Khmer Rouge Regime, it was a high school and then it converted as a Prison. it is a horrible place.and also a horrible and sad period for all of the Cambodians when Khmer Rouge Period.
after that, we went to the Russian Market. all the trade in Cambodia are mostly using USD or Khmer... at there,i bought some of scarfs, 2 clothes and key chains... but the key chain is so expensive. after TJ & me bought the key chain and vincent went to another side to buy and he gt the cheaper price than us... means we gt trick already !!!

6hours from capital city Phnom Pehn to Siam Reap... its a long journey... what actually DT student did during the journey for killng their time??
Playing Uno, Chatting, Singing, Photographer, gossiping, laughing as well as sleeping.... and so on...
sit on the bus till almost vomit and couldnt sleep well, thanks to our driver cz all the way from Phnom Pehn to Siam Reap, he keep pressing the Hom , keep breaking...
while reaching Siam Reap the 1st things we did ... of coz EATING la... hahahaha
after check in hotel. me, christina, kelly, dasom, theresia, mr adrian, ray, marvin went for full body massage and it only cost 4USD...
after that, we all gathered in Marvin & Ray's room for playing Uno, eating cup noodles as well as drinking korea alcohol...
it was the end of Day 2...

1st we spend few hour to visit Angkor Thon, Bayon Temple
After lunch, we went to Tonle Sap, the floating villag on Mekong River . where the place full with smell of salt fish and the water is so dirty like Teh mix with coffee and susu !!!
Angkor Wat, one of the 7 wonder of the world. Listed in UNESCO World Heritage list.

After that, wewent back to Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is so big, so beatiful but we can only spend around 45minutes there because we were running out of time. therefore, we suppose to go Bakheng Hill for sunset but it was closed by the time we arrived. Hiks...

after 3 months in redang
when d 1st day i cm bek from redang...
i was crying till now oso....
i miss redang ....
i miss my friends there...
i miss my gang (MaMat, SpaRk, BurN(WalaWei/sharul), DarlinG(SaMm)...)
i miss the BeaCh ResTauranT...(Abg RizAl, FaZiLa/StraWbeRRy,Jannah,Sakila/Eira,Bariah/BeRRy,AnaS,RaZam,KaMaL,WaFiY,AyuB,RizWan)
i miss recreation of staffs...
i miss other restaurant staffs (Palm , OT, Bayu Bar)
i miss Jetty...
i miss Spa...
i miss telok Dalam Besar...

so far .. 3 months being there.. it seems like a dream...
but it's not... i really hv been stay there for 3 months...
sour, sweet, bitter and spicy taste...
sour bcz i miss my family and KL's friends
sweet is hanging there with all the friends
bitter is when i was work there
spicy is when ppl talk about u (for me is no much)
in this 3 months i really have to thank god let me met a lot of friends there... and they really treat me very well. i feel like i am a princess...what i want i can tell my friends and they wil always try their best and get it for me.
the period that we training, im very lucky bcz i am the one who didn't change restaurant at all. i hv been stayed in The Beach Restaurant for 3 months. All the staff there are very friendly they taught me a lot. the supervisor there is damn nice he seems like my "GoD" in d restaurant.haha... i really love them and my restaurant....
3 months story in redang i couldnt finish at all... coz gt a lot of things happened in everyday... all the bad things i 4gt already ... cz i jz wanna remember all the happy things that happened...

a place that i ever work/training there in this 3 months.all d staffs are very friendly and it's a wonderful family. d things that i like most was when d beach got the function (hving breakfast) then i can drank the Guava juice even i didnt work my friends also will keep d juice for me...some more Abg Rizal is good in making "coffee susu" even TJ they all are falling in love v his "coffee susu. i dunnoe when can i jz drink it... huhuhu :'(
last day in my restaurant after i finish work and my lovely friend MR KAMAL "treat" me "eat" a egg even at night after i had a dinner in Palm Restaurant and i went back to my restaurant they were also "treat" me "eat' d eggs. jovin and theresia also. they sent me a mug for my memories...make me feeling wanna to cry yaz...they really teach me alot of things and give me a lot of KenanGan TerInDah...
Bayu Bar--->
after had a dinner in Plam Restaurant then i went to Bayu Bar to look for my friends -Bartender Vili. he had promise me wanna make the Long Drinks AK47 (contain:Rum,Gin,Whisky,Vodka,tequila,triple sec,lemon juice) for me but he scare after i drink i wil going get drunk bcz it's contain high alcohol mah. so he make d Long Island Ice Tea for me which 2nd high alcohol long drinks. (COntain: Tequila,Rum, Gin,Triple Sec, Vodka,Coke,lemon juice)...haha... after d day we went to Bayu bar and our friend (Little Small chEf make d pizza for us and thanks for Kak Yuza free d orange juice for us)
i met the Berjaya Manager MR CIK ZAHA in berjaya redang. im very happy and appreciated the chance to talk to him and having a dinner with him. he's a very nice person.
Shooting StAr....
d 1st time i saw d shooting star was at Long Beach on tat time my my friends bought the lazy chair and we all lied there and look 4 d shooting star. d 1st shooting star that i saw was very shining and d line was stop in d sky till after few minute just dissapeared. and only me and mamat gt c d star.haha~~~ some more we always zzz at Telok Dalam Besar and c d shooting star... we also bring d blanket and sleeping bag there...haha it was fun!!!and d sky is damn nice....
Jetty...
Nelayan Jetty is d place that we always hanging bcz there make me feel like im staying in galaxy... d star is damn beautiful till i couldn't descript and couldn't forget.... i still remember d last day i stayed in Redang i was overnite at jetty there till early in d morning...i miss there...
Telok Dalam Besar...
2nd place that we always hanging... at nite there gt alot of crabs. i stil remember gt one time Bakri zzz at there till the crab bite him and he was shock ... haha... i nvr 4gt d moment that he shock... haha...before fresh went back to Penang. Mamat they all prepared d last BBQ for us. the day we play together and eat together.... my darling found a big crab to let us c but he was hurt his hand... kesian la...everyone gt attended d BBQ except Jovin cause she was too tired on d time loll... (AttendAncE: MaMat, SaMm,SpArk,BuRn,KoBi,BahaRi,PePe,EjoY,Ting2, FrEsH,Tj,KaSeN,Su)... the fish,prawn, cuttlefish, squid all from maMAT... he is expect in TEMbAK IkAn mahh... haha
Long Beach...
HoliDay ReDaNg---> i miss the noodles which cook by holiday redang resort's chef... everytime i went there for sure i'll gt d free n delicious noodles... i can stil remember no matter how sleepy he is but he wil stil cook d noodles for us and his face always so funny especially his eyes...
Pelangi RedanG---> i miss d time when i make d roti bakar n tea/coffee/milk for me, mamat,kasen,spark...on d time i was scare bcz i seem like "cuRi MakaN plak"... haha... but everytime mamat wil tell me dun worry nobody dare to say u "curI makaN one"...haha... he always say d drinks that i make or him is nice but i dun think so ... dunnoe y..kekeke

Summer Point--->which 1st time we went to long beach and havin dinner there. and also a place we always eat at there...bcz gt "wan dan ho" mahh !!! hehe^^

Spa...
1st time know how to play pool and also 1st time playing pool. thanks for my Shifu MR MAmaT....but im bad in playing la cz everytime i challenge wif Kasen, Samm or maMAT...i'll b d loser...and i stil own Samm 3 promise oo.dun noe when can i jst return to him ooo...haih!!!!!
we always went to beside of d spa and c d jetty... sometimes we can able c d Berjaya flight fly in front of us and d feeling is damn nice. d flight seems like very lousy woo...keke~~~but must try to take d flight jz know how good or bad it is la.. d wind there was make us feel comfort and we would like to bought some food there like picnic plak...haha
the mountain which is behind d spa... at there u can c d sunset and u can also c d lang tengah n perhentian island. i like d sea bcz it seems like u r live in centre or heaven of sea without any stress n wat u can do is relax...haa.. but i hate d mosquitoes there lah...1st time i went there i used walk v spark bcz his motor couldn't gt there bcz d mountain is too high and his motor gt some problem oso. but jovin n kasen were very lucky cz mamat bought them there by d motor so they dun nid to walk..haha!!!2nd time i went there is b4 i went back to KL i ask my friends bought me there... at d time we also bought along Aleya go v us...but this time i dun nid to walk anymore...3 motors~ Spark bought Kasen n Aleya, Burn alone and Samm bought me.... around 7pm++ jz went back... i miss there...n i wil nvr 4got wat Aleya talked v me: "klau jatuh siapa susah, kak ting2 yg susah kan?" cz i was sprain my ankle n she hold my hand v kasen. they scared if fell down then my ankle wil b more serious...haha
in Redang i learn hw to ride scutter, play pool, snorkelling n alot ...but i also gt alot of things nvr do such as round island (cz everytime over zzz), diving (cz mamat scare i'll panic so he wants 2 teach me hw to swim jz bring me but it's too late dy),island hopping (everytime i hv to work so couldn't go),turtle bertelur also...
but i hope next time i go there at least i can done one things... haha
d 4th day i left Redang...
since 1st day i left every night Redang was raining till 2day oso...
d 1st day they sent me to d jetty on d ferry i start crying even when i reach KT i stil keep crying... even now everytime i think abt there and listen to song i'll still crying... Mamat told me : he's nt crying but his heart is crying...on d day when he sent me to jetty and he saw me cried he feels like wanna cry oso...my best friend and lovely friend in redang....thanks to u guys cum n sent me: mamat...spark , samm, burn ,kopi.....n o d ppl tat i met at there i really missing them!!!!
my place din raining but everytime when i think abt u all my heart wil start crying....
at redang i wil nvr scare car crash me!people wil grab me... i scare only d cow or sheep wil suddenly cum out... i can sleep every where even beside d road oso... i will nvr feel stress while i dun nid to work...i wil nvr scare i will drown bcz i know somebody wil save me...
i really hv to thanks all my friends there... bcz without u all i cant imagine my life in Redang is how suffering... thank god bring me there and give me a chance to meet all of them ...
i wil nvr regret that i choose Berjaya Redang as my training destination.

so far .. 3 months being there.. it seems like a dream...
but it's not... i really hv been stay there for 3 months...
sour, sweet, bitter and spicy taste...
sour bcz i miss my family and KL's friends
sweet is hanging there with all the friends
bitter is when i was work there
spicy is when ppl talk about u (for me is no much)
in this 3 months i really have to thank god let me met a lot of friends there... and they really treat me very well. i feel like i am a princess...what i want i can tell my friends and they wil always try their best and get it for me.
the period that we training, im very lucky bcz i am the one who didn't change restaurant at all. i hv been stayed in The Beach Restaurant for 3 months. All the staff there are very friendly they taught me a lot. the supervisor there is damn nice he seems like my "GoD" in d restaurant.haha... i really love them and my restaurant....
3 months story in redang i couldnt finish at all... coz gt a lot of things happened in everyday... all the bad things i 4gt already ... cz i jz wanna remember all the happy things that happened...
The Beach Restaurant
a place that i ever work/training there in this 3 months.all d staffs are very friendly and it's a wonderful family. d things that i like most was when d beach got the function (hving breakfast) then i can drank the Guava juice even i didnt work my friends also will keep d juice for me...some more Abg Rizal is good in making "coffee susu" even TJ they all are falling in love v his "coffee susu. i dunnoe when can i jz drink it... huhuhu :'(
last day in my restaurant after i finish work and my lovely friend MR KAMAL "treat" me "eat" a egg even at night after i had a dinner in Palm Restaurant and i went back to my restaurant they were also "treat" me "eat' d eggs. jovin and theresia also. they sent me a mug for my memories...make me feeling wanna to cry yaz...they really teach me alot of things and give me a lot of KenanGan TerInDah...
Bayu Bar--->
after had a dinner in Plam Restaurant then i went to Bayu Bar to look for my friends -Bartender Vili. he had promise me wanna make the Long Drinks AK47 (contain:Rum,Gin,Whisky,Vodka,tequila,triple sec,lemon juice) for me but he scare after i drink i wil going get drunk bcz it's contain high alcohol mah. so he make d Long Island Ice Tea for me which 2nd high alcohol long drinks. (COntain: Tequila,Rum, Gin,Triple Sec, Vodka,Coke,lemon juice)...haha... after d day we went to Bayu bar and our friend (Little Small chEf make d pizza for us and thanks for Kak Yuza free d orange juice for us)
i met the Berjaya Manager MR CIK ZAHA in berjaya redang. im very happy and appreciated the chance to talk to him and having a dinner with him. he's a very nice person.
Shooting StAr....
d 1st time i saw d shooting star was at Long Beach on tat time my my friends bought the lazy chair and we all lied there and look 4 d shooting star. d 1st shooting star that i saw was very shining and d line was stop in d sky till after few minute just dissapeared. and only me and mamat gt c d star.haha~~~ some more we always zzz at Telok Dalam Besar and c d shooting star... we also bring d blanket and sleeping bag there...haha it was fun!!!and d sky is damn nice....
Jetty...
Nelayan Jetty is d place that we always hanging bcz there make me feel like im staying in galaxy... d star is damn beautiful till i couldn't descript and couldn't forget.... i still remember d last day i stayed in Redang i was overnite at jetty there till early in d morning...i miss there...
Telok Dalam Besar...
2nd place that we always hanging... at nite there gt alot of crabs. i stil remember gt one time Bakri zzz at there till the crab bite him and he was shock ... haha... i nvr 4gt d moment that he shock... haha...before fresh went back to Penang. Mamat they all prepared d last BBQ for us. the day we play together and eat together.... my darling found a big crab to let us c but he was hurt his hand... kesian la...everyone gt attended d BBQ except Jovin cause she was too tired on d time loll... (AttendAncE: MaMat, SaMm,SpArk,BuRn,KoBi,BahaRi,PePe,EjoY,Ting2, FrEsH,Tj,KaSeN,Su)... the fish,prawn, cuttlefish, squid all from maMAT... he is expect in TEMbAK IkAn mahh... haha
Long Beach...
HoliDay ReDaNg---> i miss the noodles which cook by holiday redang resort's chef... everytime i went there for sure i'll gt d free n delicious noodles... i can stil remember no matter how sleepy he is but he wil stil cook d noodles for us and his face always so funny especially his eyes...
Pelangi RedanG---> i miss d time when i make d roti bakar n tea/coffee/milk for me, mamat,kasen,spark...on d time i was scare bcz i seem like "cuRi MakaN plak"... haha... but everytime mamat wil tell me dun worry nobody dare to say u "curI makaN one"...haha... he always say d drinks that i make or him is nice but i dun think so ... dunnoe y..kekeke
Redang Bay----> Lepak there and chit chat is what we always did...but unfortunaly i dun really like d disco there. cz too noisy dy!!! haha
Summer Point--->which 1st time we went to long beach and havin dinner there. and also a place we always eat at there...bcz gt "wan dan ho" mahh !!! hehe^^
